I recently purchased a felt board for my grandchild’s 3rd birthday. It came with the pieces for 4 different stories. The 3 Bears was the favorite. We started out with me telling the story and placing the characters on the board. Soon after, my grandchild was helping me with the pieces, as we retold the story. He now knows the story by heart, and the other day he took the story board and told the story to Henry (his stuffy), all by himself!

I used these felt boards in my classroom in centers for literacy, but I really had forgotten how much fun and learning they provide. So the teacher that never leaves my soul even though retired, grandmother (they call me Bam), and a forever advocate of reading highly recommends this form of storytelling 🙂
